Chris and I bought our first Christmas tree (along with one of the two Starbucks ornaments I’ve been eyeing) as a married couple! Even though we’ve been married for almost two years, we finally have the space for a tree, even if it’s a small table top one. For our first two years in Philadelphia, we lived in a 350-square foot studio (!), which barely gave us enough room to move without bumping into each other, let alone enough room for a tree. That first year, Chris bought a psychedelic Winnie the Pooh to cheer up our place.
I wanted a real, big tree (Chris was bent on getting a fake one, and then I told him that Christmas smells like fresh trees, not plastic ones). However, because we’re leaving for Europe a couple days after Christmas, we’d have to throw it out the day after…and a small tree is easier to hide so we don’t get weird looks from our neighbors. :P
Even though this little guy barely hits three feet tall, it brightens up the apartment and really puts me in the holiday spirit (especially since we had Christmas music streaming earlier).
