As I type this, Christine and Christian are gearing up for their engagement party, where they will make the announcement that they eloped this past weekend in New York.
Wait, what?!
That’s right, they tied the knot! Originally, they were coming to the east coast to visit us before Chris rolled into rotations. It was later on that they decided to bite the bullet and get married in a very intimate ceremony– and by intimate I mean just the two of them, the officiant, Chris, and me!
Their story begins in high school, where Christian was a big football star. Christine says she had a huge crush on him, but he never noticed her until college. Along the way, she dated his cousin while he dated her sister’s friend. One day, Christine received a message from him on MySpace asking if she remembered him. (Duh, how could she forget?!) One message led to another, one non-date led to a real date (and another and another), relationships with other people ended, and finally, the timing was right, and they were a couple.
When Christian proposed, Christine cried. That’s the kind of love they have– the kind that is full of raw emotion and unashamed to show itself in full force. Everything from their first look to their first kiss as husband and wife was just overflowing with love. It takes a lot to make me cry, but just seeing how they looked at each other during the ceremony made me tear up. I’m so glad they chose us to be a part of their big day. Not only were we the photographers, we also signed their marriage license as witnesses to their union, which was such an honor.
Congratulations, Christine and Christian!

Since Christine wouldn’t get to walk down an aisle, she and I kicked the guys out of the suite as she got dressed. They did their first look in the lobby of the San Carlos Hotel (which, by the way, we totally recommend).

They decided to have their ceremony at the High Line, and Chris and I were very enthusiastic– we LOVE this place! Aside from the occasional jogger or early riser, we were completely alone.

The bouquet and boutonniere were made by my good friend Binh of BeauFlora. She did a great job, and Christine was in love with her bouquet!

For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this is my husband, this is my wife…

RAWR.
