Yikes, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged! I feel like I’ve been disconnected to my main computer…first, we had to bunker down for that crazy Hurricane Irene that paid us an unwanted visit a couple of weeks ago. We did a full shutdown of electronics in preparation for a power outage (that didn’t happen, thank goodness), made sure the fridge was a little colder than normal, and had our flashlights nearby. Thankfully, we made it out with no damage to our apartment building. We had a little bit of flooding going on in the parking lot, but it drained surprisingly quick for how much water was collecting. Crazy!
After the hurricane, we house-sat in the city for a couple of weeks. Going from a 27″ iMac to a 13″ MacBook was hard! Now I’m getting re-adjusted to the big screen. ;)
I wanted to share Mel & Sam’s photos from their church ceremony in Chatham, NJ! It was an intimate gathering of their closest family and friends, and it was really nice being able to listen to the sermon while taking photos of the ceremony. Father Bob, who officiated, told the story about the first time he visited the Caribbean and had his first coconut water and rum. He explained, “Each, on their own, is nothing special. But together, they create something extraordinary than each of them separately.” Not that Mel and Sam on their own aren’t special (because you guys are!), but he drives home the point that a couple married in the Lord is like this cocktail: extraordinary, and more importantly, inseparable.
Congrats, Mel and Sam! Thank you so much for having us document your special day.
Mel’s sisters, Jenn (left) and Charlotte. Jenn gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Maya, in May, and Charlotte is due in December with a baby girl (and Jake will be a big brother, yay). I’m incredibly jealous– they’re just glowing! :)

LOVE this shot. Dads giving away their daughters always hold a special place in my heart.
Vows and blessing…
Mr. and Mrs.! (but really, Dr. and Dr., hehe)
